Would it be true to say that the 'day of judgement' and 'rapture' do
not apply to humankind? If we look at the 'Book of Enoch', it speaks
of God condemning some wicked beings to be exiled to the earth until
some future 'day of judgement'. Is it possible that 'rapture' refers
to these beings being removed from the earth? After all the earth is a
place where a 'new jerusalem' will herald the presence of divinity.
This would happen with the continued presence of humankind upon the
earth.

Perfect passive participle of katartizw, old verb to equip
(see #Mt 4:21; 2Co 13:11), state of readiness. Paul does not
say here that God did it or that they did it. That they are
responsible may be seen from #1Th 2:15. {Unto destruction}
(eiv apwleian). Endless perdition (#Mt 7:13; 2Th 2:3; Php
3:19), not annihilation.
